14k Gold Vermeil

Our vermeil features gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns thick (a micron is 1/1000th of a millimetre) of 14K solid gold over 92.5 % sterling silver. Gold Vermeil is more durable and longer-lasting than standard gold-plated jewellery, which has a minimum thickness of just 0.5 microns. That means vermeil is at least five times thicker, offering significantly greater durability and resistance to wear. This premium technique gives you the rich look and lasting feel of solid gold jewellery without the hefty price tag.

Water & Tarnishing

Pure water won’t immediately harm your vermeil, but it does accelerate oxidation (tarnishing). Presence of chlorine, minerals or other dissolved chemicals in “real-world” water influences how quickly our pieces darken.

Our Recommendations

• Make jewellery the final touch when dressing and the first thing you remove when you return home.
• After each wear and before storing, buff your vermeil with a soft microfibre cloth to preserve its shine.
• Place pieces in a cool, dry location. Ideally in an airtight pouch, away from humidity and direct sunlight.

Enamel

Enamelling is a technique where a glossy coating, traditionally made from glass, is applied to the surface of metal or another hard material. While traditional enamel is glass-based, we use cold enamel, also known as epoxy resin enamel, which does not contain glass. This modern alternative is more durable and resistant to chipping, making it well suited for everyday wear.

Our Recommendations

• Avoid water, heat, perfumes, and harsh chemicals to preserve the finish.
• Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately.
• Store separately in a pouch or box to prevent scratches or chipping.
